Creating Circles of Support Around Vulnerable Children and Families
Safe Families for Children
Help where it’s needed most.
Safe Families for Children was created to offer a temporary safe home to thousands of children while freeing up their parents to focus on the crisis at hand. It also provides the parents with the support and tools they need to address the crisis so they can eventually reunite with their kids and thrive.
Circles of Support
Our model for caring for one another in community involves surrounding vulnerable children and teens with a circle of support, from safe homes and churches, to mommy mentors and family coaches.
“Living out in rural Molalla, I wasn’t sure if there would be many opportunities for me to serve through Safe Families, so I was thrilled when Joan matched me right away with “J” a mom in our town. I brought all four of my kids (ages 2-16) to our first meeting, and we all hit it off! It turned out that our kids (7, combined!) were the same ages and they immediately became friends. We quickly and easily began doing life together, and none of it felt like work. It just felt like gaining new friendships.”

“I don’t know what I would have done…my only other option would have been to give my baby to foster care.”
